To Reach the Clouds
Philippe Petit is one of those people you should know about for cocktail conversation. To Reach the Clouds is a movie and it’s an absolutely amazing story of vision, faith, focus, and dedication.
From a very early age (before hitting double digits I believe) this guy saw a mock up of the gone but not forgotten World Trade Center (Twin Towers) in NYC. He told himself then and there – before they were even built – that he was going to walk a tightrope between the 2 buildings. Nuts? Yes. Impossible? No.
If anyone or group is trying to do similar, keep this in mind – aside from the amazing ability, focus, dedication, and nerves of steel, associated with putting this together (recruiting a team, rigging the wire, not getting caught, and so on), you’d also need to be an engineer and logistical wizard.
