I have very quickly become a huge fan of the lifestyle and biohacking recommendations, including supplementation, that Dave Asprey aka the Bulletproof Executive is evangelizing at bulletproofexec.com. Why? Because they makes sense, are very easy to follow, and have a made a huge, positive effect on my overall well-being and performance. He also has this to die for recipe for cupcakes.
Supplementation is a part of the program and Dave has POSTED quite a few suggestions in a number of his posts.
To make things easier, I have tracked all supplements Dave has mentioned including dose, form, time taken, recommended brand, alternate brand, what it aids, brain benefiting, advanced biohacking supplements, is it OTC, is it Bulletproof, and a reference link to where Dave mentioned it.
I update this regularly and even have links to the supplements on Amazon. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to holla!
If you like coffee, you’ll definitely want to get his Bulletproof® Upgraded™ Coffee.
While you’re at it, get some Kerrygold butter, Bulletproof® Upgraded™ MCT Oil, a blender and make your coffee bulletproof!

I found Dave Asprey through a link about bulletproof coffee, and I often drank bulletproof tea last semester before my 9 AM class. It tastes great and really leaves one full. However, supplementation is something I’m a bit skeptical about unless it’s a nutrient one is really, truly missing … I’ve heard that absorption from vitamins is not as good as absorption from whole foods (btw, never take iron and calcium at the same time). What has your experience been so far?
I have shared your skepticism about supplements but given Dave’s well-supported research, and the outstanding results I have gotten from his bulletproof coffee recipe, I chose to give it a shot. The ‘quantified me’, however, needs to evaluate the supplements and the only way I can adequately do that is by adding one at a time and taking and comparing notes over a period of time (I chose 4 weeks). I have only been exposed to Dave’s work for 3 months so I have not had the time to delve all that deeply into all of the supplements he has advised. There are also supplements I was taking prior to reading Dave’s work that I have continued taking – EPA/DHA (Krill oil), Magnesium, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E-400, Whey. What I have tried so far is Vitamin B-12, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, and Huperzine A. I just started Huperzine A so the jury is still out but the Vitamin B-12 has consistently given me an energy boost and the Acetyl-L-Carnitine has certainly enhanced my cognition based on results from http://www.quantified-mind.com/ and the quantity and quality of work I have completed.
