I recently did some very exhaustive research on iSchools and their course offerings in support of the Data Science program at the Syracuse University iSchool.
A couple quick takeaways: there are a healthy number of informatics courses offered, I was happily surprised by the number of medical-related courses being offered, and there is a strong interdisciplinary theme among all iSchools joined by a variety of dual degree programs and minors.
Here are some of the items I tracked and some insights gleaned:
- University name
- School name
- Website
- Undergraduate Programs (some schools offered as many as 7)
- Undergrad Minors (some schools had as many as 5)
- Master’s Degree Programs (some schools had as many as 14),
- Master’s Degree Specializations (some schools had as many as 12)
- Doctoral/PhD Programs (some schools had as many as 14)
- Certification/Professional Development Programs (some schools had as many as 9)
- Dual-Degree offerings (some schools had as many as 20)
