James Beard, among other things, wrote an amazing cookbook titled “Beard on Bread”. In that amazing cookbook are Girdle Scones (girdle is Scottish for griddle) which are probably my favorite bread/breakfast food of all time. My Mom made these countless times and I have so many great memories attached to them. Kes, out of the blue, made these the other day. I managed to devour a couple before heading off to work.
