National Pen Company (consumer site and corporate site) creates promotional / specialty products (pens with your company name on them, your company logo stitched onto a computer bag, etc.).
VIPCG (full disclosure, I work worked for the firm) is a management consulting firm with offices in New York and Lagos, Nigeria, that, in addition to in house corporate engagements, also runs a variety of Leadership workshops around the world.
On June 4th, begins this 5 month tale of terrible customer service, awful quality assurance, and what has sadly become the norm/standard for company /client relations. A bright spot was that I had half-work/half-vacation freedom and was conducting most of my business at Bidonville Coffee and Tea – a lovely, cozy coffee shop in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. If anyone is interested, I’ve included just about all the emails below. Though I understand that phone calls typically push things along, I often revert to email to have a record.
This is a really long post. If you don’t have the time or desire to read this, the moral of the story is to never ever under any circumstances use National Pen Company for anything. They’re an inefficient and terribly managed organization with absolutely no regard for it’s prospects (this may perhaps be true for customers as well but we never made it that far). Be aware or don’t deal with National Pen Company. They are a ripoff shady organization.
